Allama Muhammad Iqbal
Allama Muhammad Iqbal is considered one of the greatest poets of Urdu.
He presented the idea of a separate Muslim state for the Indian Muslims in his Allahabad sermon in 1930, which emerged in the form of Pakistan on August 14. You must have read or listened to some of Allama Iqbal's poems or ghazals.
As a ghazal cabbage, Allama Iqbal has its own unique color and harmony. He has broadened the scope of ghazal and introduced it to new possibilities. Compared to other Urdu poets, Iqbal gives us new subjects, new ideas, and new and rare ideas. He has also made great changes in the traditional language and style of ghazal. Reading his lyrics, it seems that we have reached a new world of ideas. His ghazal is different and unique from all the previous and post-Urdu poets.
Muhammad Iqbal urged Muslims to regain their lost ground through the attributes of faith, self-confidence, trust, self-esteem, self-knowledge, hard work and sincerity, and love. Iqbal's words contain poems about life, death, happiness, sorrow, separation, religion, history, literature, the study of nature, time, and every aspect of life. These universal themes of Iqbal's poetry make him one of the world's great philosophical poets. Although Iqbal's poetry is an expression of this reformist goal, it is not without its changes. His poetry also has a very high position in terms of artistic merits.
Ab Talak Yaad Hai Qoumon Ko Hikayat Un Ki
Naqsh Hai Safah-e-Hasti Pe Sadaqat Un Ki
The world remembers still the tales which hymn their bravery,
And in their storied book of life shines their sincerity.
Woh To Diwana Hai, Basti Mein Rahe Ya Na Rahe
Ye Zaroori Hai Hijab-e-Rukh-e-Laila Na Rahe!
Qais is mad: what if he dwells in town or wilderness?
Yet from him, Layla must not veil her face in bashfulness!
Kashti-e-Haq Ka Zamane Mein Sahara Tu Hai
Asr-e-Nau Raat Hai, Dhundla Sa Sitara Tu Hai
If you rely on the bark of God, Adrift beyond the bar,
The newborn age is dark as night, And you its dim pole‐star.
Jo Bharosa Tha Usse Quwwat-e-Bazoo Par Tha
Hai Tumhain Mout Ka Dar, Uss Ko Khuda Ka Dar Tha
If he was confident of aught, It was his right arm's might,
He feared but God, while thoughts of death your craven soul's affright.
Baap Ka Ilm Na Bete Ko Agar Azbar Ho
Phir Pisar Qabil-e-Miraas-e-Pidar Kyunkar Ho!
When sons, lacking their fathers' worth, are neither skilled nor sage,
With what deserving can they claim their fathers' heritage?
Aaj Bhi Jo Baraheem (A.S.) Ka Imaan Paida
Aag Kar Sakti Hai Andaz-e-Gulistan Paida
But if the faith of Abraham there, once again, is born,
Where leaps this flame, flowers will bloom, and laugh its blaze to scorn.
Pak Hai Gard-e-Watan Se Sirr-e-Daman Tera
Tu Woh Yousaf Hai Ke Har Misr Hai Kinaan Tera
Your robe is free from the dust of home, Not yours such narrow ties,
That Yousuf you, who Canaan sweet, In every Egypt lies;
Den haath se day kar agar azad ho millat
hai aisi tijarat mein musalmaan ka khasaara
Give by hand if the nation is free
There is a loss of Muslims in such trade
Haq baat ko lekin mein chhupa kar nahi rakhta
to hai, tujhe jo kuch nazar aata hai, nahi hai
But I do not hide the truth
Yes, that's right you can now become known as a Lord of the Rings
Kabhi darya se misl-e mouj ubhar kar
Kabhi darya ke seenay mein utar kar
Kabhi darya ke saahil se guzar kar
Maqam apni khudi ka faash tar kar
Go through the rive like a wave
Go into the chest of the river
Go through the Side of the river
Then reveal your position
Jo aalm-e-ijaad mein hai sahib-e-ijaad
har daur mein karta hai tuwaf is ka zamana
The one who invented in the world of invention
He performs Tawaf in every age
Zameer jaag hi jata hai agar zindah ho Iqbal kabhi gunah se pehlay kabhi gunah ke baad
Conscience is awakened if confession is alive
Sometimes before sin, sometimes after sin
